Shaun Bussert, Esq. is an Associate Attorney at Washington, Dreyer & Associates. He focuses his practice on an array of family and domestic legal matters, including divorce, modifications, custody and child support.

Shaun brings a unique perspective and skill set to his clients with his strong accounting background. In addition, he is an experienced and aggressive advocate for his clients and has litigated cases in nearly 60 counties in the Peach State.

Shaun graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from Ball State University. While attending Ball State, Shaun played for the varsity men’s tennis team, appearing in the NCAA tournament as a senior after leading his team to a conference championship. Shaun was also a three-time NCAA ITA Academic All-American and had memberships at Golden Key, Omicron Delta Kappa and Honors College. He was also an executive member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

He attended law school at the University of Tennessee College of Law and graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 2015. During his time at the University of Tennessee, he participated in the Saul Lefkowitz Trademark Moot Court Competition and was a part of the Tennessee Journal of Law & Policy. Shaun also helped begin the Expungement Clinic during his time working in the Legal Clinic.

In his last year of law school, he was the 3L Coordinator of the Legal Aid Advice Clinics and received the Legal Aid of East Tennessee Volunteer Law Student Award. Because of his legal aid work, Shaun was also recognized as a Law Student for Justice by the Supreme Court of Tennessee.

Shaun grew up in Decatur, Georgia, but now resides in Brookhaven, Georgia. When he is not in court, you can find him “on the court” competing in USTA tournaments with his father, with whom he has won several National Championships.
